Easy-Fit Swift Belt
The buckle incorporates a small 5° relief to better follow the natural angle of the hips and make closure more…swift! Slipping the hook down into the 1.5" wide belt's securing loop is instant and secure. After you initially adjust the belt to fit, you may never have to use the Velcro closure again -- at least until Thanksgiving.
Our Swift buckle is laser-cut from premium 7075-T6 aluminum for toughness and light weight. This stronger alloy allows the buckle to be very thin and reduce its metal detector signature dramatically, making your life easier. The buckles are then tumbled to soften the edges, and finally anodized black.
This flat and narrow Swift buckle is super low-profile for concealed carry, but can also be used in "tunnel" style MOLLE/PALS warbelt sleeves and belt pads since access to the hook and loop fastener isn't required each time you put it on.
The Swift Belt body uses the same durable and comfortable custom webbing as our other time-tested belts. It is available with all of the expected Wilderness options, including choosing your belts stiffness with standard 3-stitch (more flexible), enhanced 5-stitch (more vertically rigid; the most popular option), or heavy-duty CSM (polymer-lined Combat Shooters Model). We offer both every-inch specific sizing or Easy-Fit sizing, hook or loop lining inside, and Black, Wolf Grey, Coyote, and Ranger colors.
Switchable Ambidextrous Buckle Use
As long as the retension hook on our Swift buckle is pointing down, it can be installed on the belt body with the buckle facing right or left depending on whichever side you would like the Velcro fasteners for sizing adjustment. There is no universally correct answer.
Users of the excellent DCC (Discreet Carry Concepts) clips on AIWB holsters may find the combined thickness of the webbing and Velcro-closure side can be difficult to fasten and unfasten them over. You may unfasten the running adjustment end of the the belt, clip on the holster, and re-fasten the belt end over the clips after putting on the holster, but that does put more daily wear on the hook and loop fastener. We think a better solution is to unthread the belt body from the buckle, reverse the buckle (hook must still point down), and rethread the belt body through both of the buckling slots so the Velcro securing fastener is now on the opposing side to the holster. This positions the clips over the thinner side of the belt body near the closure hook's webbing loop (*see photo).
e you probably won't need to fasten and unfasten the Velcro closure as often on this belt, the end with the hook fastener MUST be threaded through both slots of the buckle before adhering it to the loop (fuzzy) Velcro on the belt body. This threading around the center bar creates friction on to hold the webbing in place and prevents premature failure of the hook and loop fastener material. Obvious misuse and premature wear are considered misuse and not covered under warranty.
Optional Extra Hook or Loop Lining
We now offer the option of adding extra hook or loop fastener to the inside or outside of most of our belts. This is NOT the normal hook and loop closure; that is always standard on our belts. This optional hook & loop helps to secure many hook or loop fastener-lined duty belts and warbelts in place when using ours as an underbelt. When used on the inside, it can help lock our belt into place when using it over a hook or loop fastener-lined underbelt on your pants. Some pouches also feature hook or loop inside of their belt loops to aid in keeping them in place.
What is Easy-Fit Sizing?
What could make the world's greatest belt any better? The Easy-Fit belts offer simplified sizing for those who don't mind an extra length of belt tongue on their dominant side. Note that the extra tongue length my interfere with strongside holsters. However, the belts have no incorrect orientation and the tongue may be run either right or left-facing to deconflict with belt-mounted gear.
Some competing belts achieve a wider, more generic sizing range just by adding more hook-and-loop fastener to the belt body. However, this makes you pull hook fastener through the buckle at the smaller size. We didn't like that and engineered ours to avoid it.
Available in Medium, Large, XL, XXL, 3X-15X, the Easy-Fit Instructor Belt still has all of the quality features of the standard version, such as double-layer construction and heavy-duty sewing. The Easy-Fit system also makes sizing for gifts much easier.
Standard belt properly fitted
• 38" size: 36" - 39.5" range of adjustment
• 11" of tongue (at the min. length) / 9" of tongue (when properly fitted)
• 3.5" of adjustment range
Easy-Fit
• Large: 36" - 41" range of adjustment
• 13" of tongue (at min. length) / 10" of tongue (at the median when properly fitted)
• 5" of adjustment range
Why don't we size all of our belts that way? All of our regular belts are designed to be compatible with holsters and accessories with proper fitting. When the belts are precisely sized for a given waist measurement, the tongue of the belt goes to the center of the 10" loop fastener on the belt, leaving room on the belt for holsters or other gear. The Easy-Fit model has a longer tongue and more hook-and-loop fastener, so it may overlap the belt to the extent that it limits things that can be put on that side of the belt where the tongue overlaps. While the Easy-Fit is just as capable of load carrying, it does not offer as much dominant-side area as the precise-sized belts, which are our personal preference when practical. This may or may not be a problem for you depending upon your holster or personal preference, but we want our customers to know the potential conflict when making their choice.
